Contingency Fee Agreements
It is very important to us that you know how we work. This is out commitment to transparency.

Dealing with a disability or insurance claim is never easy. Our goal is to make the process straightforward and less stressful. Freedom Disability Lawyers is transparent with how we charge for our work. All case reviews and initial consultations are free. We offer this meeting for free because we want you to learn about your case and rights without any pressure. If you want to proceed with a case and think we will work well together you will be provided with clear information about our fees going forward.
Freedom Disability Lawyers provides legal services on a contingency fee basis for most of its cases. This means that there is nothing to pay upfront and nothing to pay until your case is settled or you win at trial. In most cases, we pay for all expenses associated with the case. This includes small expenses like postage and large expenses (disbursements) to outside providers, which often include medical experts. We pay these expenses and do not send you a bill during the case. We will never ask you to pre-pay for disbursements or take out a loan to pay the cost.
The contingency fee agreement allows you to receive access to legal services that you may not be able to afford. This provides access to justice - which is what everyone deserves regardless of financial means.
The Law Society of Ontario requires all lawyers providing contingency fee agreements to publish the maximum fee payable. To comply, this is Freedom Disability Lawyers’ notice that the maximum fee is 33%. The maximum fee will not be charged in all cases because each case is unique and the risk and work vary. At Freedom Disability Lawyers, we have tiers based on how far the case progresses. Before taking on any new case we want you to have all of your questions answered. Contact the disability team today to book a free case review with one of our lawyers.
